Dr. David Price
David Price MD first made a name for himself in the field of laparoscopic surgery while in residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he received a Laparoscopic Surgery Achievement Award. A pioneer in the use of lasers to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomies, David Price MD teaches this technique to residents at Mercy Hospital. Additionally, David Price MD frequently works as a delegate with People to People, participating in mission trips to areas such as China and Venezuela to provide training in both laparoscopic surgery and natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery. Before becoming a surgeon, David Price MD worked in toxicology, first serving as a Forensic Toxicologist for the Kentucky State Police Central Crime Lab and later working in a clinical capacity at the University of Louisville. In 1984, David Price MD left this line of work to pursue surgical medicine, studying for his medical degree at the University of Louisville. While working for his doctorate, Dr. David Price received training in varied subjects such as endovascular surgery, advanced diagnostic techniques in vascular disease, vascular ultrasound techniques, and stereotactic breast biopsy using the Advanced Breast Biopsy Instrumentation System. After graduating and completing his residencies, David Price MD joined a group practice based out of Pittsburgh and McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania that focused on both general and vascular surgery. David Price MD worked with this practice for seven years before leaving to create Grace Surgical, a private practice that works in conjunction with Mercy Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center (UPMC) Cranberry Passavant, and UPMC North Hills Passavant. David Price MD maintains membership in several medical societies, including American Medical Association and Pennsylvania Medical Society. Furthermore, Dr. David Price is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons and participates in the Mock Oral Boards for resident surgeons throughout southwest Pennsylvania.
